Former BJP MLA Raj Purohit has stated that unlike Congress governments, which allegedly ignored Shah Rukh Khan, the BJP has recognized the superstar purely on merit and talent.
Speaking to PTI Videos, Purohit said that many people felt the Congress overlooked Shah Rukh despite his stellar career. Highlighting Khan’s recent achievement, he noted that the actor won the National Award for Best Actor for his role in Jawan, which he shared with 12th Fail star Vikrant Massey.
“The BJP has never judged Shah Rukh Khan on the basis of religion. We recognized his performance and honored him for his talent,” Purohit emphasized.
He further added that Shah Rukh Khan’s win disproves accusations that the BJP engages in caste or religious bias. According to him, the party stands for unity, meritocracy, and capability, values reflected in acknowledging Khan’s contribution to Indian cinema.
