The summer of 2025 has kicked off on an interesting note for Bollywood. While only a handful of big-budget films have hit the screens so far, the box office has already seen highs and lows. Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava turned out to be a sensational success, raking in over ₹500 crores and setting a high benchmark. On the flip side, Salman Khan’s much-hyped Sikandar failed to impress and ended up as a box office disappointment.
Today marks the release of Jaat, starring Sunny Deol. With the spotlight on its performance, all eyes are on how audiences will respond to this action-packed drama.
Looking ahead, Bollywood has a star-studded slate lined up for the rest of the year. Topping the anticipation charts is War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, directed by Ayan Mukerji. Set for an August 14 release, the film has already generated massive buzz, topping BookMyShow’s interest poll with over 61.7k votes.
Close on its heels is Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2, with 41.1k votes. Akshay Kumar’s Welcome to the Jungle (39.8k), Housefull 5 (33.3k), and Kesari: Chapter 2 (16.1k) round out the top five most-awaited films.
The excitement doesn’t end there. Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 4 (13k), Siddhant Chaturvedi’s Dhadak 2 (11.4k), Sanjay Dutt’s horror-comedy The Bhootni (10k), and Dhanush’s romantic drama Tere Ishk Mein (9.8k) are also on the radar of moviegoers.
With such a diverse and star-studded lineup, it remains to be seen which of these films will strike gold at the box office and capture the audience’s hearts in the second half of 2025.
