Senior Bollywood filmmaker Subhash Ghai met AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Vijayawada on Tuesday to discuss the feasibility of setting up a Film Institute in the truncated Telugu state.
Ghai, who owns a Film Institute in Mumbai, reportedly conveyed his willingness to set up an Institute in Amaravti, and he sought the support of state government. Chandrababu responded positively as he also aims to promote the Telugu film industry in Andhra Pradesh.
Following the bifurcation, AP govt. has been inviting interested parties to come up with the proposals of setting up Film Institutes in the state. The government announced huge tax incentives and other benefits.
