Bollywood’s leading actress Deepika Padukone has recently faced some unexpected setbacks, losing out on major opportunities that had created quite a buzz. She was reportedly considered for two big Pan-India projects alongside the country’s rising pan-India superstar Prabhas. However, both opportunities—Sandeep Vanga’s Spirit and the sequel to Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD—slipped through her fingers, according to makers. Along with missing these high-profile projects, Deepika is said to have lost nearly ₹40 crore in potential earnings.
Adding to the surprise, several big corporate brands have also reportedly shifted their endorsements away from Deepika, choosing Alia Bhatt instead. Notably, Deepika was previously the face of the prestigious Gucci brand, which now appears to prefer Alia for its campaigns.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh has also been missing out on consecutive high-profile films. He was initially slated to star in Shankar’s remake of Aparichit, but the project fell through unexpectedly. Later, he was supposed to feature in Prashant Varma’s Brahmastra, but creative differences reportedly led to his exit. Several other prestigious projects meant for him were stalled due to unforeseen reasons.
There were also reports of Ranveer being cast in the long-anticipated Shaktimaan remake. However, the project has faced continuous delays, and rumors suggest that filmmaker Mukesh Khanna is reluctant to sell the rights to others. Allegedly, Ranveer was considered for the role, but Khanna did not approve, citing potential overlaps with a South Indian star. Creative differences with director Basil Joseph also reportedly contributed to the project’s stagnation. As a result, Shaktimaan’s remake remains uncertain, and no official clarification has come from Ranveer’s side yet.
That said, Ranveer continues to have promising opportunities. He is set to star in the third installment of the Don franchise, Don 3, directed by Farhan Akhtar, and he is also involved in Hopes, directed by Aditya Dhar, keeping fans’ expectations high.
