Boycott Assembly: Jagan Tells MLAs

YS Jagan has given a call for all the 44 MLAs (excluding Jagan) of his party to boycott the Monsoon Session of AP Assembly that will begin next month. Jagan has held an emergency meeting at Lotus Pond where he called on all his MLAs and passed a resolution on not to attend the Assembly owing to inaction by the Speaker over defections.

YSRCP had won 67 MLAs in 2014 general elections. However, at least, 21 MLAs have been defected to TDP. While in the recent Nandyal by-poll, TDP snatched the victory and won the Assembly constituency, the other MLAs of YSRCP including four who are currently serving as ministers – Bhuma Akhila Priya (Allagadda), Amarnath Reddy (Palamner), Adinarayana Reddy (Jammalamadugu), Sujaya Krishna Ranga Rao (Bobbili) – are still sailing with TDP.

Amidst this, YSRCP has decided to take the fight to next level. Taking a serious note of Chandrababu Naidu’s government and Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad for not taking any action against the defectors, Jagan called his party MLAs to stay away from the Assembly during Monsoon session and instead asked to stage dharnas across the state.
