Boycott, boycott, boycott we are hearing more and more about the trend over the past two years. Irrespective of the reason, people make the trend which will affect the films. Bollywood, one of the biggest industries in the nation is going through sleepless nights with the trend. Even big stars are unable to escape the trend.
Earlier last week two big Bollywood stars Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar tried their luck at the box office with Laal Singh Chadda and Raksha Bandhan respectively. Both stars had a tough time and their films are struggling to get good footfalls at the theatres.
It is strange that someone like Akshay Kumar who is called a money-making machine given his box office stamina failed to get a good start. The Akshay Kumar starrer became the victim of the boycott after the views of movie writer on a few issues became controversial.
On the other hand, Laal Singh Chadda also faced the boycott heat. Not happy with the comments made by Aamir Khan made in old videos about devotees wasting milk in temples rather than feeding the food people boycotted the film. Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan requested audiences to watch their film but in vain.
The boycott Bollywood trend has turned to a level where those who support boycotted films are also facing the heat. Handsome hero Hrithik Roshan who will be seen next in Vikram Vedha faced the heat after the Boycott Vikram Vedha hashtag became a trend on social media. This happened after he posted in support of Laal Singh Chaddha. A hero like Hrithik Roshan facing the threat shows us how dangerous the trend has become.
