Political Pressure on Ram Mohan Naidu After Ajit Pawar Plane Crash
The position of Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu has once again come under scrutiny following a tragic aviation incident in Maharashtra. The recent death of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash near Baramati has triggered renewed public debate and calls for accountability.
Leaders from Ajit Pawar’s faction of the NCP have raised concerns over a possible conspiracy behind the crash and have demanded a detailed investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation. Sunetra Pawar, Ajit Pawar’s wife and the current Deputy Chief Minister, personally met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and submitted a memorandum requesting a central probe, accompanied by senior party leaders.
Additionally, MLA Rohit Pawar, Ajit Pawar’s nephew, has demanded a thorough inquiry into both the potential conspiracy angle and any lapses in aviation safety. He has also called for the temporary removal of Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu and senior DGCA officials until the investigation is complete, and urged the registration of an FIR against the private aviation company that provided the aircraft.
The developments have intensified political debate, especially since Ajit Pawar’s party is part of the NDA alliance at the Centre, making the government’s response highly significant in terms of both political and administrative accountability.
