The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), led by former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), has announced that it will not vote for either INDIA bloc candidate B. Sudarshan Reddy or NDA candidate C.P. Radhakrishnan in the ongoing Vice-Presidential election, polling for which is being held on Tuesday.

BRS working president KTR officially communicated the party’s decision at a press conference on Monday, stating that the party does not align with any political bloc and is committed solely to the people of Telangana. Interestingly, Sudarshan Reddy is an independent candidate and a staunch pro-Telangana advocate.

In a contrasting stance, KCR’s daughter and Telangana Jagruthi founder Kalvakuntla Kavitha expressed her support for Justice Sudarshan Reddy. She told reporters that she strongly wishes for Sudarshan Reddy, a son of Telangana, to win the Vice-Presidential election, emphasizing that he would bring dignity to the office and has a strong commitment to the Constitution.

Kavitha further stated that Telangana Jagruthi will continue working towards a socially just Telangana, ensuring justice for all sections of society while proceeding politically in a consultative manner. “Our movement will include everyone — from Left to Right,” she added, noting that if KCR had returned to power for a third term, he would have worked toward a socially inclusive Telangana.
