YSR Congress Party leader and MLA landed in big trouble. The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a disproportionate assets case against YSR Congress MLA from Sananutalapadu Audimulapu Suresh and his wife and Income Tax official Vijaya Lakshmi in a disproportionate asset case.
The case was registered for the MLA couple amassing illegal wealth allegedly. The 1994 batch IRS official Vijaya Lakshmi was working as Income Tax Commissioner in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
The CBI charged the Income tax official under prevention of corruption act. It is alleged that Lakshmi and Suresh have acquired assets worth Rs 5.95 crore presently as against their income of Rs 4.84 crore, which is disproportionate to the tune of Rs 1.10 crore. “The DA is 22.86 percent of the income earned by them, which they cannot satisfactorily account for,” says CBI in a statement.
