The High Court on Monday issued notices to Municipal Administration Minister M Maheedhar Reddy and Madanapalle legislator Shahjehan for their failure to take action against Madanapalle Municipal Chairperson Shakunthala Devi in spite of a report submitted to the minister against corrupt activities of the civic chief.
Responding to a petition filed by one Ramana, the High Court took serious exception to the minister and the MLA for not taking action against the municipal chairperson over the serious corruption allegations levelled against her. The minister and the MLA were directed to file counters to the petition within two weeks.
The petitioner had also urged the High Court to cause a CBI investigation against the illegal assets of Maheedhar Reddy and Shahjehan.
