On January 14, an attacker attempted to breach the security of Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat bungalow in Mumbai. After conducting reconnaissance, the individual failed to gain entry due to the tight security measures in place. Following this failed attempt, the attacker shifted his focus to Saif Ali Khan’s residence in the Satguru Sharan building, where security was comparatively weaker.

The attacker managed to infiltrate Saif’s home, reaching the 12th floor where the actor resides. He entered the room of Saif’s younger son, Jeh, and was discovered by a house help. The ensuing commotion alerted Saif, who confronted the intruder. During the struggle, the attacker stabbed Saif six times with a sharp object, causing severe injuries, including a critical wound near his spine.

Saif was rushed to Lilavati Hospital by his elder son, Ibrahim Ali Khan. The doctors performed a complex surgery to remove a 2.5-inch knife blade embedded near his spine and to repair the damage. Despite the gravity of his injuries, Saif showed remarkable resilience, walking into the hospital without a stretcher, even as he bled profusely. The medical team has since confirmed that Saif is stable and out of danger, though further treatment is ongoing to ensure his full recovery.

The attacker was detained by the police at the scene and taken to the Bandra Police Station for interrogation. At the time of the attack, Saif’s wife, Kareena Kapoor, and their two sons were also present at the residence. The incident left both the family and the household staff deeply shaken.

While Saif continues to recover, the case has raised significant concerns about celebrity security in Mumbai. Authorities are investigating the motivations behind the attack and the lapses in security that allowed the intruder to reach Saif’s home.
