Director Chandoo Mondeti’s highly anticipated film Thandel is all set to hit theatres on February 7th, with the team pulling out all the stops for an exciting promotional campaign. The trailer has already made waves, with launches in three major cities—Hyderabad (for Telugu), Chennai (for Tamil), and Mumbai (for Hindi).
Reflecting on his previous success, Mondeti recently spoke about his hit film Karthikeya-2, which was made on a budget of 15 crores but went on to earn an astonishing 120 crores worldwide. This success, following his directorial debut Karthikeya (starring Nikhil), solidified Mondeti as a promising talent in Indian cinema. After Karthikeya-2 became a massive pan-India success, expectations for his next project Thandel—starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi—are incredibly high.
During the promotion of Thandel, Mondeti dropped an exciting bombshell about Karthikeya-3. “I’ll start work on Karthikeya-3 once Thandel is completed. I know the responsibility I carry after the success of Karthikeya-2. Part Three will be on a whole new level. I have a wonderful concept ready, and I’ve already finished location hunting. This next instalment will focus on Lord Krishna, and after the success of Karthikeya-2, I’ve seen children asking about Krishna and the Govardhan Giri episode. It’s heartwarming, and I’m excited to delve deeper into our roots, culture, and mythology.”
Chandoo’s words have stirred up significant excitement, with Karthikeya-3 already generating a lot of buzz even before its official announcement. Mondeti’s passion for bringing Indian mythology to the big screen, combined with his deep understanding of storytelling, has made fans eager to see what’s next from this talented director.
