Chandrababu Honors Shree Charani Reddy; Arundhati Awaits Telangana Recognition

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu recently met international cricket player Shree Charani Reddy, who hails from the Rayalaseema region, and honored her remarkable achievements.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister announced a 1,000 sq. yard residential plot, a cash reward of ₹2.5 crore, and a Group-1 government job in recognition of her contributions to Indian cricket. These generous announcements were made to celebrate her success, and it remains to be seen when they will be formally implemented.

Meanwhile, in neighboring Telangana, another talented cricketer, Arundhati Reddy from Hyderabad, has yet to receive any such recognition from her state government. Despite being part of the Indian women’s cricket team — albeit as a reserve bowler — Arundhati’s consistent dedication and effort have earned her respect within the cricket community.

However, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has not yet met or acknowledged Arundhati’s achievements, nor announced any reward or felicitation.
Many observers believe that honoring athletes, even those who serve as reserve players, is vital to encouraging local talent.

Chandrababu Naidu’s gesture has drawn praise from several quarters, with many pointing out that recognizing sporting excellence — whether big or small — goes a long way in inspiring future generations.
