As the TDP+ government marks its first anniversary on June 12, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is gearing up to unveil a landmark welfare scheme for women, delivering on a key election promise. The initiative will provide ₹1,500 per month to women aged 18 to 59 from eligible households—fulfilling a commitment that played a crucial role in mobilizing female voters during the campaign.

This much-anticipated scheme is aimed at empowering women from BC, SC, ST, and minority communities, and will apply only to those with white ration cards or living below the poverty line. Women from economically well-off backgrounds or upper castes will be excluded unless they meet the eligibility criteria based on income and social status.

With a direct benefit of ₹18,000 annually, the financial aid is expected to significantly ease the burden for underprivileged women across the state, improving their day-to-day living conditions.

Beyond its welfare objective, the scheme is also seen as a strategic step to solidify the TDP’s support base among women—a demographic that played a decisive role in the NDA’s electoral victory.
