Some stories don’t shout; they just linger in quiet pain. Actor Chatrapathi Sekhar — known for his roles in Student No. 1, Simhadri, Magadheera, Vikramarkudu, and RRR — recently opened up about one such chapter of his life: his divorce. Usually seen lighting up the screen with his warm smile, Sekhar revealed a side of himself that audiences rarely see — one marked by struggle, regret, and resilience.
Speaking with striking honesty, Sekhar shared that things between him and his wife simply stopped working. “We both lost patience. Every day turned into arguments, so we decided it was better to live apart than keep fighting,” he said candidly. Without trying to justify himself, he admitted, “It was my fault too. I was lazy, didn’t listen enough, and often gave money to people who never returned it. I was too soft to even call and ask for it back,” he added with a bittersweet laugh.
He also spoke about his emotional connection with Bigg Boss fame Keerthy Bhatt, who played his daughter in Manasichhi Choodu. “I treated her like my real daughter and even helped her financially once. But after an interview, she got upset with me. The money never came back,” he said, smiling through what sounded like quiet disappointment. Sekhar shared that he actually lost more money than he earned while doing that show, as he often couldn’t say no to people who came asking for help.
Sekhar married actress Neelya Bhavani, and the couple has a son and a daughter. However, their relationship couldn’t withstand the differences, leading to separation. His wife and children now live in America, while Sekhar continues his journey here, keeping himself busy with films and serials. “If Bigg Boss calls me, I’ll leave in two days,” he said with a mix of humor and weariness.
