Whenever we talk about the most populated nation in the world, dragon country China comes to our mind. There is a reason for this, the population in our neighboring nation has been increasing rapidly and it is also seen as a populous nation. But things have changed now and China lost the tag in terms of population.
China lost the place and tag of the most populated nation to India. The United Nations Organisation said that India overtake China in population. While China’s population stood at 142.57 crores, India’s population rose to 142.86 crores. For the first time, India became the most populated nation.
If we look at the situation in India and China, the population has been coming down in China due to various reasons. On the other hand, the population has been increasing at a bigger rate. So the population increased in India. We have schemes like family planning. But it appears that they are not working.
Back in 2022, it was announced that the population dropped in China and the authorities said that it is the first time the po[pulation saw a drop. Changes in lifestyle and a decline in fertility rates in women are said to be the reasons for this.
China is exploring all the possible options to increase its population. Earlier this month it was reported that a few colleges in China announced to leave for one week and named the leaves as ‘Love Break’. Students were asked to fall in love and feel the beauty of spring.
Having a young population is always an advantage and India is facing this. On the other hand, the Chinese population is coming down regularly. As a result, India surpassed China as the most populated country in the world.
