Ever since he stormed into Tollywood with his 2012 blockbuster Ee Rojullo, Maruthi has been the go-to man for all the medium budget producers and aspring actors. Maruthi scripted his own path to success from being a small-town guy with starry dreams to seeing his craze kept increasing with each ‘youthful’ film he directed and even produced.
Until a year ago, Maruthi was continuously chided by his critics for the excessive dosage of double meaning dialogues in his films. The poor guy even earned a forgettable title as a ‘boothu director’. However, with the latest blockbuster Bhale Bhale Magadivoy, Maruthi not only erased the ‘boothu’ tag before his name, but is also being revered as a star director.
Maruthi’s rise to stardom even led to several comparisons between Maruthi and Tollywood’s numero uno director Rajamouli. In a recent TV interview, an anchor hailed Maruthi as the next Rajamouli of Tollywood. Interestingly, Maruthi did not refuse this comparison and simply smiled, silently indicating that he is indeed happy being compared to Rajamouli, the most successful director Tollywood ever witnessed.
Also, in a recent audio launch, Maruthi was one of the guests and while he was walking towards the dais, he was treated specially by a few upcoming actors of the film, which not even the hero or the director of the film were treated to. This shows the craze Maruthi earned among the industrywallahs.
Maruti started treading the family entertainers route with his eyes set on big stars like Venkatesh, Allu Arjun, Mahesh Babu and Pawan Kalyan, it will be interesting to see how he will handle his stardom.
