In recent times, with the rapid rise of social media usage, incidents of individuals targeting celebrities with abusive and objectionable comments have significantly increased. Such behavior has been causing serious mental distress to public figures. Recently, senior actress Renu Desai faced a similar situation, where some miscreants not only posted vulgar content about her but also targeted her children with offensive remarks. Disturbed by this, she approached the Cyberabad Cyber Crime Police. Acting swiftly, the police launched an investigation and have already arrested four individuals in connection with the case.

Now, a similar issue has surfaced involving popular anchor Anasuya Bharadwaj. Known for her active presence on social media—where she regularly shares glamorous photos and voices her opinions on social issues—Anasuya has been facing personal attacks online for quite some time. Recently, these criticisms crossed all limits, with users posting highly objectionable and abusive comments against her.

Taking the matter seriously, Anasuya approached the Cyberabad Cyber Crime Police. Based on technical evidence, the police identified and arrested a 30-year-old man named Dorepalli Chanti from Alwal village in Nalgonda district. According to officials, the accused had been continuously targeting Anasuya on Instagram, posting offensive, abusive, and inappropriate content. The complaint states that the harassment had been ongoing since December 2025.

Following his arrest, the police registered a case under multiple stringent sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including Sections 75, 79, 336(4), 351, and 356, along with provisions under the IT Act such as Section 66E (violation of privacy) and Section 67 (publishing or transmitting obscene content in electronic form).

The police have reiterated that strict action will be taken against anyone who uses social media platforms to deliberately target celebrities or women with the intent to insult or harass them. They also warned that even those operating through fake accounts will not escape legal consequences.

Authorities emphasized that social media should be used responsibly and constructively, not as a platform for harassment or personal attacks. They expressed hope that such strict measures will bring about a change in the mindset of those engaging in such misconduct.
