Producer and film financier Singanamala Ramesh Babu, known for backing big-star films like Komaram Puli and Khaleja, has been acquitted after a 14-year legal battle. The case, which alleged fraud related to his 10-acre property in Mahabalipuram, was recently dismissed by the court. Following the verdict, Ramesh Babu addressed the media, expressing relief and sharing his experiences.

He stated that cinema is like a mother to him, and despite being falsely accused in a property dispute, he never lost faith in the legal system. After 14 years, the court ruled in his favor, proving that the allegations were baseless. He emphasized that false cases do not hold up in court and that justice had finally prevailed.

When asked about taking action against those who filed the case, Ramesh Babu clarified that he holds no personal grudges but is prepared to continue fighting legally if necessary. Speaking about his career in the film industry, he reaffirmed his commitment to cinema, stating that he would continue as a producer and financier. He also shared that his two children, both successful heroes, have now developed an interest in direction and writing.

He denied any involvement of the film industry in the legal case, stating that the individuals behind the allegations were outsiders. Reflecting on his financial setbacks, he admitted to facing a loss of nearly ₹100 crores due to delays in film production. He explained that in the past, movies were completed within six months to a year, but some of his big-star projects took almost three years, leading to severe financial losses.

Clarifying details about the case, he mentioned that he was accused of defrauding ₹14 crores, with claims that he sold his 10-acre property without informing others. However, the court’s verdict confirmed that the allegations were false, and the property remains under his name. When asked if his journey could be turned into a film, he laughed, joking that if it were made into a web series, it could run for a thousand episodes.

On the topic of film financing, Ramesh Babu admitted that while the finance business had been his family’s livelihood, film production remains a gamble. He acknowledged losing ₹100 crores on two films but noted that the current trend in the industry appears to be profitable, with producers reportedly making ₹10 for every ₹100 invested.

Speaking about the lessons he learned, he stressed that a producer must have a strong understanding of all 24 crafts in filmmaking. He also dismissed claims that C Kalyan was a partner in Khaleja, stating that the film was completed with his own money. He credited God for supporting him during tough times.

As for future projects, he said that for him, story is the real hero and that he wants to produce both big-budget films and content-driven projects. He hinted at an upcoming film announcement soon.
