Actors, directors, and producers routinely appeal to audiences to catch their movies on the big screen first. However, at the success event of 8 Vasantalu, cinematographer Vishwanath Reddy took everyone by surprise with a rather unexpected comment. He stated that the film might look better on Netflix than in theatres due to the advanced picture quality.
This surprising statement left the media astonished — as it almost sounded like an indirect suggestion to wait for its OTT release instead of watching it on the big screen. Normally, filmmakers encourage audiences to enjoy their films in theatres first before revisiting them digitally, but this remark went against the grain. Even a few people who were considering a trip to the cinema might change their minds after hearing this.
Perhaps Vishwanath Reddy had a less-than-ideal experience at a regular cinema, which prompted his statement. However, the message ended up sounding counterproductive. Their absence sparked more questions than excitement. Still, the team members who attended insisted that the film was a super hit.
