Citadel: Honey Bunny Season 2 Cancelled, Amazon Merges Franchise

In a surprising twist, Citadel: Honey Bunny, the Indian spin-off of the global spy thriller Citadel, starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, will not be returning for a second season. Despite the success and strong viewership of the first installment on Amazon Prime Video, the platform has officially scrapped plans for Season 2.

The news comes as a shock to fans who were eagerly awaiting the sequel. Adding to the surprise, Amazon has also cancelled Citadel: Diana, the Italian version, as part of a broader restructuring. Instead, the streaming giant is set to merge all storylines from the global Citadel universe into a larger, interconnected narrative matrix.

“The global response to Citadel has been phenomenal,” an Amazon representative said. “Merging story arcs will elevate the experience and strengthen the franchise as a whole.”

While Priyanka Chopra’s Citadel arc will continue, with Part 2 expected in 2026, the future of Honey Bunny remains unclear. Varun Dhawan had previously teased the possibility of Season 2 being adapted into a film, but with the latest developments, fans are uncertain if that vision will materialize.

Though disappointing, this move signals Amazon’s intent to consolidate the franchise into one cohesive global saga—possibly at the cost of regional sequels.
