Classic Tollywood Songs Strike Gold: How Aditya Music Helps Hits Go Viral

In today’s films, even a brief snippet of a classic song can send audiences into a frenzy. Remixes of vintage tracks are widely appreciated, and in many cases, old songs become major highlights for movies. While new songs may trend briefly, only classics from the 1960s to the 2000s remain evergreen.

However, using these timeless tracks isn’t easy—it can be expensive. Most songs from the 1970s to 2000s are owned by specific companies, and filmmakers must secure permission and pay licensing fees. In Tollywood, a large number of these songs are owned by Aditya Music. Whether it’s Velluvochi Godaramma from Devatha or Idemitamma Maya from Aayudham, filmmakers must approach the company for rights.

For the movie K Ramp, the song Idemitamma Maya Maikam Kamminda became a standout. Initially, the team considered several popular tracks, but most were beyond their budget of Rs 2 lakh. This particular song was chosen because it fit the budget. Interestingly, Aditya Music, which maintains a good rapport with the filmmakers, allowed them to use the track for free. The song went on to become a huge hit and a social media sensation.
