Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had introduced the budget for the financial year 2022-23 earlier today. The budget session started on Monday and the President of India Ramnath Kovind addressed the Parliament. Common people pinned high hopes on the budget. However, the budget had turned out to be a disappointment.
The opposition parties are slamming the budget saying that it is not beneficial to anyone. Joining the force, Telangana Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao turned a critic of the Union budget 2022-23. KCR felt that the budget will not benefit the common man.
Calling the budget useless, the Chief Minister said that the budget had left out the likes of employees, common people, and the SC, ST, and BC minorities. The budget did not offer anything for them. All the BJP did while tabling the budget is nothing but Golmaal.
Seeing the Union budget from a critical lens, KCR had highlighted the areas that were not touched and expressed his dissatisfaction that the Union government did not give any allocations for the agriculture sector and the handloom sector was not given a helping hand.
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi founder also slammed the Union Budget for the reason that the Income Tax slabs were not changed. KCR said that not changing the slabs has hindered the hopes of employees and taxpayers who had high hopes that the Income Tax slabs will be changed.
“It was unfortunate that nothing had changed the slabs in the Income Tax. The central budget has watered down the hopes of the working class and other taxpayers who are eagerly awaiting the policy of slabs in the payment of income tax,” the Chief Minister said.
KCR came down severely on the Union Government for batting a blind eye towards the health and infrastructure sectors that were severely hit by the Covid impact. Drawing a comparison between other countries and India, the Telangana Chief Minister said that the other countries are focusing on developing the infrastructure, but the Centre has other plans.
The other day, the TRS MPs skipped the first days of the budget sessions when the President of India addressed the Parliament. The decision was taken to fight against the injustice towards the state in terms of funds and other issues.
