The tragic and disturbing death of an elderly man named Singayya—who was reportedly run over by a vehicle used in Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s convoy during a recent visit to Sattenapalli—has become one of the most talked-about incidents in Andhra Pradesh politics in recent times.
The Guntur police have launched an investigation into the matter, and the vehicle allegedly involved in the incident has already been seized. Today, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu publicly addressed the issue for the first time, expressing serious concern.
Speaking at a public gathering, Naidu said, “This man [Jagan] doesn’t seem to value the lives of ordinary people. When Singayya was run over by his vehicle, there was no concern or accountability. The injured man was not rushed to the hospital in time, and he unfortunately passed away. To cover it up, they claimed the incident involved a different vehicle. But I have access to the forensic report, and it clearly confirms that the vehicle in question was indeed the one used by Jagan.”
Naidu’s remarks have added a new dimension to the ongoing controversy, especially with the mention of forensic evidence supporting the claim.
With the chief minister now directly involved and expressing strong views, all eyes are on the Andhra Pradesh police to see how they proceed. It remains to be seen whether any formal accountability will be established and if Jagan Mohan Reddy will be asked to respond to the allegations.
