Vijay Sethupathi Passes Telugu Pan-India Role, Shivarajkumar Takes Over
Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi has always had a unique approach to selecting his films. Previously, he experimented with villainous and supporting roles, but now he has decided to focus solely on solo lead roles. This strategy has paid off, as his recent Kollywood projects have achieved notable success, with Thalaivan Thalaivi being his latest hit.
Interestingly, Vijay Sethupathi was also supposed to feature in an upcoming Telugu pan-India film. Although the director had previously worked with him and wanted to offer him another role, Vijay politely declined. The reason behind this decision is his commitment to focusing only on solo lead projects.
For instance, in Uppena, directed by Buchi Babu, Vijay Sethupathi impressed audiences with his portrayal of Shesharayanam. When Buchi Babu wrote a powerful role for his next film, Peddi, he had Vijay Sethupathi in mind. However, Sethupathi turned down the part, choosing to stick to his plan of solo projects.
As a result, the role in Peddi has now gone to Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar, who is making his Telugu comeback after a long gap. Shivarajkumar, known for his performances in films like Killing Veerappan with RGV, had not acted in Telugu cinema for some time, making this project a highly anticipated return.
Buchi Babu is reportedly making Peddi a powerful entertainer, and early glimpses suggest it will be a blockbuster. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film stars Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead, with music composed by A.R. Rahman. Even the first shot has set high expectations, showcasing the scale and grandeur of the film.
