If CM Seat Is On Mind, Jr NTR Has To Wake Up

Going by Jr NTR’s comments, as said in social circles, that he got upset with the arrangements made at NTR Ghat other day, one wonders if the talented star hero is contemplating to become Chief Minister one day like his grandfather. At a time when Telugudesam cadres’ morale is low due to the recent defeat in elections, Junior raising his voice sounds like some political thoughts are on his mind.

In case if Junior has such aspirations, surely this is the time for him to wake up, quit films and join full-time politics. If you start (or join) a party before elections, cinema glamour might help get TV and social media coverage, but that reception won’t turn into votes. While people stormed to polling booths for a cinema star in 1983, that doesn’t happened in 2009 when Megastar Chiru made an entry or in 2019 when Pawan Kalyan is in the fray. What more examples Jr NTR will need to understand that cinema glamour is of no use to political ambitions at this moment?

Majorly, Pawan Kalyan’s inability to turn all the fan energy into votes, explains how the voters are actually thinking. One has to tour the state like anything, meet people, and find resonance with them. Then only he could emerge as a mass leader and end up winning massively like YS Jagan. Telugu voters have become so independent and intelligent that they are rejecting incompetent politicians outright, even though if the person is a famous celebrity.

And if Junior wants to tackle Telugudesam, then first he has to sort out the unspoken issues with Chandrababu and Balakrishna, before taking a plunge. There is no chance to start up a faction-war inside TDP now like how Hari Krishna did it earlier because already morale of cadres is quite weak. Also, cadres might not rally alongside Junior because he has no political experience. And if NTR is willing to join the league started by his grandad, then he will be in Top 5 eventually, but not emerge as Top 1 contender with Naidu calling the shots.
