Apparently some of the big producers whose films are midway in the production pipeline are going to get affected by the lockdown enforced due to the COVID-19 pandemic. And we hear that already Telugu film industry folks have started consultations as to the kind of steps the should take in the coming months in order to make sure that producers don’t get burdened financially.
Firstly, for those producers who are making big films with the likes of Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh, Prabhas, Ram Charan, NTR and Allu Arjun, surely their investments drawn from banks should be paid with interest. Even though if RBI allows moratorium for 3 months, the interests are not going to be waived. On that note, if lockdown gets extended and it takes a whole lot of time for shootings to resume, the only way to escape the financial burden is by reducing the production costs.
Already Producers Guild is said to have discussed this and they are said to be coming together with the idea of cutting down the remunerations of star heroes, which is the sole high component among the incurring costs of a movie production. All the top heroes might forgo a part of their remuneration in order to save their producers, they say.
On the other hand, these producers are also thinking about ways to decided on the release date slots as many movies might rush to the market once lockdown of theatres is lifted.
