While the grieving families of more than 115 Haj pilgrims who lost their lives and several more injured when a giant construction crane collapsed on them at the holy Grand Mosque at Mecca are yet to come out of the devastating tragedy, the kindhearted Saudi Arabia Kingdom has announced a whopping 1.77 crore each to the families of the pilgrims who lost their lives and even injured severely.The Saudi King Salman announced in a decree that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will pay 1 million Saudi riyals (approximately Rs. 1.77 crores) to each of the family members of the deceased and disabled permanently in the accident. Also, those victims who suffered less serious injuries will be paid 88 lakhs each.
The shocking accident that took place on 11th September also took the lives of 11 Indian pilgrims. Most of the victims were buried in the Martyr’s Cemetery near the mosque. Already, an enquiry commission has been set up and the KSA has found the Bin Laden Group, a reputed Saudi development company, guilty and asked it to leave the country.
