Veteran actress Jayaprada who ventured into politics and served as a Parliamentarian suffered a big shock after a court slapped a non-bailable warrant against her. In connection with an old issue, the special court issued orders saying that a non-bailable warrant is issued against the former MP.
The warrant was issued against her in connection with the two cases which allege that she violated the poll codes during the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Jayaprada has to attend the court and give an explanation in this regard.
As the actress did not appear before the court in connection with the case, a non-bailable warrant was issued against her. Government Advocate Amarnath Tiwari said that not appearing in court is the reason behind the special court issuing a non-bailable warrant and the next hearing of the case is on the 9th of January.
The 60-year-old actress entered politics and became an MP. She started her career with the Telugu Desam Party. Later she shifted her focus to Uttar Pradesh politics and became an MP from Rampur. Post the 2019 Lok Sabha polls she came back to Andhra Pradesh.
The actress is now with the saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party. Earlier she expressed her interest in becoming active in Telugu politics again. Recalling her Telugu roots and how she became a big heroine in films, Jayaprada said she wants to serve the Telugu people. She is not active in politics of late.
