Soldiers guard our borders and territories for us. Unlike us, they get very few holidays and that too based on fellow jawans. A discussion on the holidays among the jawans in a camp turned out as a disaster as four soldiers have breathed their last and as many as three jawans sustained injuries. The incident had shocked one and all.
Going into detail, the shocking incident reportedly took place inside the Central Reserve Police Force’s (CRPF) 50th battalion in Chhattisgarh. The place where the gun firing was reported falls under the Maraiguda police station jurisdiction. The shocking incident was reported during the early hours of Monday.
It has been widely reported that the incident took place after a constable who had an argument with his fellow battalion members on the holidays opened firing leaving four dead and three injured. The Central Reserve Police Force(CRPF) constable used his AK-47 rifle reportedly.
As the incident was reported in Chhattisgarh state, the officials have shifted the seven victims to a nearby hospital in Telangana’s Bhadrachalam area. Upon checking them, the doctors at the medical facility reportedly declared four victims as brought dead and provided treatment for the three victims. The four deceased are also constable rank officials.
A CRPF jawan opening fire against other jawans after things escalated quickly in a small debate had left everyone in a state of severe shock. The constable who was responsible for the incident was held in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) custody for the investigation.
The officials have started interrogating the accused constable to know the exact reason behind using his service weapon and open fire at the other constables. The interrogation is underway at a secured location and more details on the same are awaited. The officials are expected to announce details on the interrogation very soon.
Discipline is a core aspect and key aspect for the armed forces. They won’t tolerate any indiscipline and we have to see what action the officials would take against the constable. Shockingly this is the second such incident to be reported in CRPF. Earlier in January this year, a constable opened fire leaving one jawan dead and one injured.
