In a close shave a major tragedy was averted. The blast of a gas cylinder at a small hotel near Godavari Pushkar ghat on Wednesday evening created a panic. Fire caught with this blast and The incident was reported at a cool drink shop near Gokavaram bus stop. Alerted with this sudden mishap, government officials immediately rushed to the spot and took control of the situation. Fire engines came to the rescue and to control the fire.
However, no causalities were reported so far which led government officials to heave a sigh of relief. Going by the reports four people were injured and taken to nearby hospitals for the treatment. Six vehicles (Two buses, three bikes and one auto) were charred beyond recognition as they were engulfed in fire.
Since this mishap took place few metres away from the Pushkar ghat and very close to where large mass of pilgrims thronged, officials responded on urgent basis so that unfortunate events won’t happen.
CM Chandrababu Naidu too rushed to the spot and overseeing the helping measures. Naidu spoken to an eye-witness and took note of the reasons which led to this incident.
