Akhanda 2 Premiere Booking Confusion Deepens

Akhanda 2 is gearing up for release, and online ticket bookings have officially opened. But there’s one glaring issue that has left fans puzzled.
Despite the hype around its paid premiere screenings, these shows are still not visible on any booking platform in Hyderabad. Only regular shows from December 12 are open, and tickets for them are already selling fast.
This has led to widespread confusion, as the first official screening is supposed to be the paid premieres on the night of December 11. Yet, fans cannot book them anywhere.
According to industry insiders, distributors may be resorting to a familiar tactic. They say that the moment bookings open, excited fans rush to secure the earliest available show. Distributors reportedly wait until a significant number of regular-show tickets are sold—and only then release the premiere tickets.
The outcome, insiders claim, is predictable.
Fans who are desperate to catch the earliest possible show end up buying premiere tickets priced around ₹600. Since most ticketing platforms do not allow cancellations, these fans are forced to purchase tickets twice.
When questioned, distributors allegedly brush it off casually, suggesting that true fans can surely afford the cost of two tickets for their favourite star. This, insiders say, has become a recurring strategy.
However, a source from the producer’s side offers a different explanation, suggesting that distributors alone may not be responsible. Internal coordination issues and last-minute scheduling changes may also be at play.
For now, the truth remains unclear. But the continued delay in opening paid premiere bookings has undoubtedly raised eyebrows among fans.
This issue isn’t unique to Akhanda 2. Several major releases in recent times have faced similar situations. Unless the government enforces a strict cancellation policy to protect consumers, such practices are likely to continue.
