Deepika Padukone–Kalki Controversy: Truth Behind the Rumors

Share

“Kalki 2898 AD” has once again found itself in the middle of an unexpected controversy — this time stirred up by misleading reports. Several media outlets have been spreading rumors that the film’s team has removed Deepika Padukone’s name from the end credits. However, reliable sources close to the production have confirmed that these claims are completely baseless and part of a targeted negative PR campaign.

According to insiders, this misinformation appears to be fueled by certain sections of the Hindi media, allegedly connected to Deepika’s PR team. The motive, they say, is to divert attention and regain public sympathy following the actress’s reported exit from Kalki’s sequel.

Interestingly, not just anonymous online accounts, but even reputed media houses have joined the bandwagon, adding more fuel to the controversy. The truth, however, remains that Deepika’s credit remains intact in Kalki 2898 AD, and no such removal ever happened.

Sources also revealed that the producers made several attempts to resolve differences with Deepika regarding her working hours, remuneration, and other contractual terms for the sequel. As talks fell through, the team has temporarily paused casting decisions for her replacement. Further official updates on the sequel are expected soon.
