Deepika Padukone Speaks Out After ‘Spirit’ Exit; Vanga Reacts Strongly

Days after her exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming film Spirit sparked a storm of speculation and online drama, Deepika Padukone addressed the controversy in a recent interview. Choosing to remain composed and reflective, the actress said she relies on her inner voice when faced with difficult choices.

“I think what keeps me balanced is just being truthful and authentic. Whenever I’m faced with complicated situations, I always listen to my inner voice, make my decisions, and stand by them. That really gives me peace and a sense of equilibrium,” she shared.

Her statement comes in the wake of mixed reactions from the public — while many fans applauded her for standing her ground, others criticized her, accusing her of playing into what they called “fake feminism.”

Meanwhile, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga took to social media to express his disappointment — without directly naming Deepika. In a strongly worded tweet, he wrote:

“When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) between us. But by doing this, you’ve ‘DISCLOSED’ the person that you are. Putting down a younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for? As a filmmaker, I put years of hard work into my craft. For me, filmmaking is everything. You didn’t get it. You won’t get it. You will never get it,” he posted, ending with the hashtag #dirtyPRgames.

The online discourse continues to polarize opinions, with both parties sticking to their perspectives. Whether this clash will impact the film’s progress or the industry dynamic remains to be seen.
