Deepika Padukone is currently immersed in AA22xA6, the high-budget Allu Arjun–Atlee sci-fi thriller, touted as one of the biggest pan-Indian films in production right now.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that she set clear and firm conditions for two other major Telugu projects—Kalki 2 and Spirit, both envisioned for global audiences. Deepika is said to have demanded an eight-hour workday cap, a significant pay hike, and premium amenities for herself and her 25-member team.
Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga reportedly declined these terms, resulting in her exit from Spirit. Likewise, despite her key presence in Kalki 2898 AD, the makers of Kalki 2 ultimately chose not to bring her back for the sequel.
In a recent interview, Deepika mentioned that her priorities have shifted, and she has no regrets about these films moving out of her lineup. Featured as Bazaar India’s November 2025 cover star, she emphasized that she is no longer interested in chasing massive “500-crore projects” and is now more selective and mindful about the work she takes on.
