Why Prabhas Signed a Three-Film Deal with Hombale Films

Prabhas, one of Telugu cinema’s biggest stars, is well-known for his introverted nature. He tends to keep a low profile and prefers to stay within his close circle. Interestingly, one of the few people he shares a close bond with is Hombale Films’ producer Vijay Kiragandur. In a recent interview, Prabhas opened up about why he committed to a rare three-film deal with the banner — a decision uncommon among top-tier actors.

Generally, big stars avoid signing back-to-back films with a single production house, opting instead to work with different producers to enhance their market value and remuneration. Yet, Prabhas made an exception by associating with Hombale Films — a banner not even based in Hyderabad — at the peak of his career.

The reason, as Prabhas revealed, lies in his admiration for Vijay Kiragandur’s dedication to quality and filmmaking. Praising Vijay, Prabhas shared, “He’s very grounded and easy-going. From the moment we worked on Salaar, I felt at home with him. He stays close to his childhood friends and doesn’t socialize much — similar to me.”

Prabhas also recalled an incident during the making of KGF, where a massive set caught fire. Despite the financial loss, Vijay reportedly told the team not to stress about the expenses and instead focus on maintaining the film’s quality. This gesture deeply impressed Prabhas, strengthening his desire to collaborate with the production house repeatedly.

As part of the three-film deal, Prabhas has completed Salaar: Part 1. The second part is expected to go on floors next year, while details of the third project are yet to be finalized.
