Rana Naidu, one of Netflix’s original Indian web series, has once again stirred up mixed reactions among audiences. While the first season faced heavy criticism for its excessive use of foul language, adult content, and vulgarity, the makers took the feedback seriously and promised a cleaner version for Season 2. However, the latest season, which premiered on the 13th of this month, has not been able to escape disappointment either.

Starring Rana Daggubati, Venkatesh Daggubati, Surveen Chawla, Arjun Rampal, and others, the second season steered clear of controversial content but fell short due to its sluggish narrative and lackluster screenplay. Soon after its release, negative reviews began flooding social media, with many viewers expressing their dissatisfaction.

One of the biggest letdowns for fans was the limited screen time given to Venkatesh Daggubati. Audiences expected him to play a more substantial role, but his brief appearances left them disappointed. Despite Rana Daggubati’s strong screen presence and the chemistry in scenes involving Surveen Chawla, the overall plot failed to keep viewers engaged.

Another factor contributing to the lukewarm response was the lack of aggressive promotion for Season 2, unlike its first season. Speculations also suggest that the content may not have been tailored to appeal to Telugu audiences, which further impacted its reception. Interestingly, Venkatesh’s absence from promotional activities raised eyebrows, hinting at a possible deliberate choice to distance himself from the project.

With the underwhelming response to Season 2, it remains uncertain whether the makers will proceed with a third season. Only time will tell if Rana Naidu will get another chance to redeem itself.
