There are serious differences within the council of ministers of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao over the way he is dealing with the ongoing strike of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) employees.
This was revealed, not by the TRS leaders, but by firebrand Pradesh Congress Committee working president A Revanth Reddy.
“There is a split in the TRS cabinet over the RTC strike. It is evident from the way only some ministers, who had never been with the Telangana movement, are talking while many others who are sincere to the Telangana cause have remained tight-lipped,” Revanth said.
Revanth said that the Huzurnagar by-election will direct the future of the Telangana amidst the RTC strike.
He lashed out at the ruling party as to why it was speaking about RTC merger with government and why not its privatisation when both were not included in the manifesto.
He further asked the government to explain as to why it is collecting 27 per cent fuel tax for TSRTC and one per cent from air services.
Revanth also said that KCR does not have the power to dismiss RTC employees. He is responsible for the suicide of RTC employees, the Congress leader alleged.
