Producer Dil Raju recently opened up about his experience working with Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay on the film Varisu (titled Varissu in Telugu), directed by Vamshi Paidipally. While the film performed moderately at the box office, particularly resonating with Tamil audiences, Dil Raju shared valuable insights into Vijay’s professional approach during a recent interview.
According to Raju, Vijay is highly disciplined when it comes to planning his shooting schedules. “Vijay has his own rules and he follows them very strictly,” the producer revealed. “When we collaborated on Varisu, he clearly told us he would dedicate six months to the film, offering 20 working days per month. It was up to us to plan and execute the film within that window.”
Raju further highlighted that Vijay is extremely conscious about both the starting and ending timelines of a project. “He ensures a film is wrapped up within the agreed time, and that kind of discipline is very helpful for producers,” he said.
He went on to stress how this work ethic could benefit the industry as a whole. “If every hero adopts a similar approach, it would be a golden era for producers. Directors, technicians, and the entire crew would feel the push to stay on schedule. Even if pre-production takes more time, the actual filming will progress efficiently,” Raju explained.
He also pointed out the current issues in the Telugu film industry, saying, “Right now, there is a complete collapse in timelines, and we are actively working on fixing it.”
Dil Raju, who recently released Thammudu, is now preparing for his upcoming projects including Rowdy Janardhana, Yellamma, and a few others.
