A lot of notable movies are arriving this Sankranti season and the discussion among the makers regarding the allotment of theatres is not reaching any conclusion. Film Nagar talk suggests that one or two makers were asked to either prepone or postpone their movies but it served no purpose. With ‘Guntur Karam’ releasing on 12th January, a few suggested ‘Hanu-Man’ makers to change their release date just by a day but it did not work out according to reports.
Similarly, we have ‘Eagle’ and ‘Saindhav’ releasing on 13th January while ‘Naa Sami Ranga’ is releasing on 14th January. With not enough theatres, there are reports arriving that a few bigshots are forcing some makers to postpone their releases. But ace producer Dil Raju stated that there is no such thing. He is distributing a couple of releases during the Sankranti season and he denied all the reports going around on social media.
He said, “We have explained to every producer the consequences of this five-point clash. We didn’t specifically ask any producer to withdraw from the race. If all the films want to be released at the same festival season, then theatre scarcity will be there. If a couple of films back out, then Film Chamber will ensure them a solo release date later in January or February.” He clarified that 27th December will be the date that they will take the final call on the release date. Let us wait and see how things turn out in the coming days.
