Hyderabad, India (August 18, 2024): With the release of his second directorial venture, ‘Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam’, just around the corner, director Lakshman Karya has been actively promoting the film. The comedy-drama, featuring veteran actor Rao Ramesh in the lead, is set to hit theaters on August 23rd.
In recent promotional interviews, Karya shared invaluable insights into the film’s inception and development. He credited his debut film, ‘Happy Wedding’, for providing him with the necessary experience and knowledge to helm ‘Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam’.
The director revealed that the core idea for the film was sparked by a personal experience. He recounted a puzzling incident where a significant sum of money was unexpectedly credited to his bank account. The ensuing confusion and attempts to trace the source of the funds formed the intriguing foundation for the film’s plot.
Karya also expressed his gratitude to renowned producer Tabitha Sukumar for her support and belief in the project. He shared that a chance meeting between his wife and Tabitha led to the latter’s involvement as the film’s presenter. Impressed by the script, even Sukumar’s husband, acclaimed filmmaker Sukumar, offered words of encouragement.
An interesting connection to the popular film ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramulo’ was also highlighted by the director. The character portrayed by Ankit Koyya, who plays Rao Ramesh’s son in the film, harbors aspirations of belonging to a wealthy family. This storyline bears a striking resemblance to Allu Arjun’s character in ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramulo’, who believes he is the son of a wealthy industrialist.
With the release date approaching, anticipation for ‘Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam’ is steadily building. The film promises a delightful blend of humor and drama, backed by the director’s personal experiences and the support of industry stalwarts.
