Director’s Comments On DSP Goes Viral!

Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad is a phenomenal talent. He is a top-tier music composer who has been ruling our playlists from the past two decades. He has blockbuster albums right from the beginning of his career and became a star composer in no time. Devi took the throne from Mani Sharma and enjoyed the top position for more than ten years. But his magic started to fade away from the past 3-4 years.

Despite being very busy even today, the music lovers are commenting that Devi has lost the Midas touch. Thaman has taken over the top spot and the Rockstar is finding it tough to compete with the ‘Kick’ composer. He gave a very good comeback with ‘Uppena’ and ‘Pushpa’ songs last year which turned out to be chartbusters. But he is still not back in form as his latest songs are a bit repetitive and lacked freshness.

Many claim that Rockstar is not focusing quite properly. As we know, ‘Khiladi’ is all set to release on 11th February and all the songs have come out. Though they sound decent, none of them had the usual magic of Devi Sri Prasad. Recently, the film’s director Ramesh Varma indirectly talked about the film’s music.

He said that Devi didn’t give him a chance for him to narrate the story till 12’o clock at night and the narration went on till 3:30 AM in the morning. As soon as the narration was done, Devi gave six tunes within half an hour and they reportedly used five of them in the movie. While this is not a negative comment of DSP and explains the immense talent he possesses, a lot of people are claiming that Devi would have given his best if he had taken more time rather than working hurriedly. Many of Devi’s songs became hits once they saw them in theatres and let us hope that the same happens for ‘Khiladi’ too.

‘Khiladi’ is Ravi Teja’s immediate film after ‘Krack’ and there are a lot of expectations on this movie. Meenakshi Chaudhary and Dimple Hayathi are the heroines in this film which is produced under ‘A Studios’ and ‘Pen Studios’ banners.
