With Kapu community being in large numbers in Andhra Pradesh, many expected that Janasena will have a massive swing. But none of such happened. Experts say that Kapus are divided between TDP and Janasena, while this led to BCs and other communities voting en masse YSR Congress to power.
But there is a singular exception and it is none other than Rapaka Varaprasad who has won from Razole (SC reserved) constituency as an MLA of Janasena. Of course, he’s the first ever MLA from the party founded by Pawan Kalyan. So what made this contestant made that difference?
In fact, Rapaka has won with 1167 votes majority and a total of 48740 votes, over his nearest rival, YSRC’s Bonthu Rajeswara Rao. Even the TDP candidate Gollapalli Suryarao also got 44515 indicating that the fight between these three is a close contest. However, die-hard Kapus are said to have worked quite hard to make all their community members vote for Rapaka.
We hear that, despite the fact that other candidates used their influence, money and many things, Kapu community has decided to showcase their unity and that made Rapaka get that ‘slight’ majority. Had all the Kapus been like this, then Pawan Kalyan would have won many places, says these Razole guys now.
