Odela 2, the much-anticipated sequel to the hit film Odela, is set for a summer release on April 17th. Directed by Ashok Teja and produced by D Madhu under Madhu Creations and Sampath Nandi Teamworks, the film has already garnered significant attention ahead of its debut. Sampath Nandi, the creative head of the project, has expressed palpable excitement about the film’s journey, describing it as a heartfelt tribute to his birthplace.

According to Nandi, the journey of Odela 2 has been incredible, beginning with a grand launch in Kaasi and the teaser premiere at the Kumbh Mela. The response to the teaser has been overwhelmingly positive, and Nandi credits the blessings of Lord Shiva for the film’s success. He emphasizes that the movie is more than just a cinematic venture—it’s a deeply personal project. “Odela is a story about Odela Mallanna, who safeguards the villagers from evil through Naga Sadhu. While the storyline may seem simple, the real spectacle lies in the screenplay, content, and sequences. This movie is designed to be a grand theatrical experience,” he explains. The film promises to thrill audiences, especially with its climactic moments that Nandi assures will leave viewers frightened.

The conceptualization of Odela began during the lockdown, with a vision to create a film with a small crew, based on true stories from Nandi’s village. The unexpected success of the first film on OTT platforms only fueled the anticipation for the sequel. Odela 2 picks up seamlessly from where its predecessor left off, continuing the gripping narrative with an added sense of intensity.

For Tamannaah, this marks her fourth collaboration with Sampath Nandi, and she expresses deep admiration for his approach to filmmaking. “Working with Sampath has been a rewarding experience. His storytelling and work ethic have had a significant impact on my career. His films resonate not only with Telugu-speaking audiences but also beyond,” says the actress. With a commitment to fully immersing herself in the role, Tamannaah even gave up non-vegetarian food to embody her character, underscoring her dedication to the project.
