The makers of Drishyam 3 are planning something special. Director Jeethu Joseph aims for the Malayalam, Hindi, and Telugu versions to hit the screens almost simultaneously — a rare feat in Indian cinema.
Although each version will be shot separately, the idea is to align the schedules so that all versions release together. This ambitious strategy underscores the immense popularity of the Drishyam series across India.
The Malayalam version, led by superstar Mohanlal, is set to begin production in October 2025. Around the same time, the Hindi version — starring Ajay Devgn — will also go on floors, with its release already scheduled for October 2, 2026, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti. The Telugu version featuring Venkatesh will follow a similar plan.
Given the actors’ tight schedules, filming all versions at once is a challenge. However, Jeethu Joseph and his team are committed to releasing all three versions as close together as possible. The director is working on a single core script tailored slightly for each language to suit local sensibilities, while preserving the suspense and thrills that have captivated Drishyam fans.
This simultaneous multilingual release is a bold move that reflects the franchise’s pan-Indian appeal and its strong fanbase across regions.
