Responding over the reports of Charmi’s alleged involvement in drugs and she receiving notices from the Excise Department, Charmi’s father Deep Singh Uppal has tried to clear the air. Stating that she has ‘no role’ in the drugs scandal that was unearthed after a drug peddler Kelvin was arrested by Excise Department sleuths, her father stated that Charmi is very disturbed with the allegations.
“Charmi is heartbroken. She is not involved into this. I know my daughter. She has been working hard since she was 13 and looking after our family. She is very dedicated towards her work that has brought her this far and not into any illegal things. Had she involved into these, she wouldn’t had such a longevity of career, success. I urge media to verify facts before resorting to allegations and think of their families,” Deep Singh was quoted as saying who concluded by saying that truth will come out.
Charmi’s acting career is on a downward spiral after many of her previous films failed at the Box Office. She has co-founded Puri Connects, a talent management firm along with director Puri Jagannadh with whom she is closely associated with. While Puri has already attended before the SIT today (July 19), Charmi is going to present before the SIT on July 20.
