Dulquer Salmaan has firmly established himself not only as a talented actor but also as a successful producer. His latest production, Lokah, has delivered unimaginable profits, surprising even Dulquer himself. Initially, he had prepared for the possibility of losing money on the first installment of the franchise, but the overwhelming success of the film turned everything around.
In a recent interview, Dulquer revealed his astonishment at the film’s performance. “This is our 7th film as a producer, but we landed safely with the movie. The success of the movie is unprecedented. The pop culture impact, the VFX, and everything received tremendous appreciation. We thought we might lose money with the first film of this franchise. We couldn’t fully understand certain calculations of the film. The budget was high, and buyers weren’t interested. I thought that if this franchise was established, we might make a profit. But this success was unimaginable,” he said.
On the trade front, Lokah crossed ₹250 crore by September 15th, moving close to becoming an all-time industry hit, nearly surpassing Empuraan, which collected ₹270 crore. If the current trend continues, it is expected to reach that milestone by the coming weekend.
The first chapter of Lokah was headlined by Kalyani Priyadarshan and directed by Dominic Arun. Future installments of the franchise are expected to feature Dulquer Salmaan, Tovino Thomas, and even Mammootty, promising a star-studded continuation of this successful series.
