Punctuality has always been one of the most debated topics in the film industry, as it directly affects production schedules, coordination among technicians and co-stars, and ultimately the film’s quality. Actors who value time and arrive punctually on set are often held in high regard for their professionalism.
Recently, Tamil filmmaker A.R. Murugadoss stirred controversy when he openly criticized Bollywood superstar Salman Khan for being unprofessional during the shooting of their upcoming film Sikandar. Murugadoss alleged that Salman frequently arrived late to the sets, forcing the team to adjust their schedules, which disrupted the production flow. His remarks have since sparked widespread discussion across media and film circles.
Adding fuel to the debate, acclaimed Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi made some sharp comments during the promotions of Yami Gautam’s upcoming film Haq. While praising Yami for her discipline, he took a veiled dig at certain actors, saying, “She’s one of the few who come on time, like me. So there was no problem there.” When the host asked if actors still tend to come late to sets, Emraan quipped, “Arey kuch log toh aate hi nahin” (Some actors don’t even show up at all).
Emraan’s remark has since gone viral, igniting curiosity about whom he was referring to. Given that he recently worked alongside Salman Khan in Tiger 3 and Pawan Kalyan in OG, fans began speculating if his words were aimed at either of them.
While some linked his comments to Salman, especially after Murugadoss’s recent statements,
others speculated about Pawan Kalyan, who balances both his film and political commitments as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. However, industry sources clarified that Pawan Kalyan worked tirelessly—often more than 15 hours a day—to finish OG on time, even traveling to Mumbai for key scenes. In fact, certain combination scenes were delayed due to Emraan Hashmi’s health issues, not Pawan’s schedule.
Thus, it remains unclear who the real target of Emraan’s comments was. Nevertheless, his statement has sparked a major discussion across Bollywood and South Indian film industries, reigniting the age-old debate about punctuality and professionalism among top stars.
