End violence: PM Modi appeals Russian President

In the wake of the ongoing military operation of Russia on Ukraine, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi dialled Russian president Vladimir Putin on Thursday and appealed for an immediate end to the violence in Ukraine.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said PM Modi called for concerted efforts from all sides to return to the path of diplomatic negotiations and dialogue.

Mr Modi reiterated his “long-standing conviction that the differences between Russia and the NATO group can only be resolved through honest and sincere dialogue,” the statement read.

As per the reports, Vladimir Putin had briefed Narendra Modi about the recent developments concerning Ukraine.

The PM also explained India’s concerns regarding the safety of Indian citizens and students in Ukraine and said their safe exit and return are the highest priority.
