Actor Akhil Akkineni had a series of successive flops in his career. He is one young actor who has great potential but not tasted success yet. But it appears that a new venture that marks the first collaboration with director Surender Reddy looks intriguing and hopeful.

The director who is known for making commercial action and fun oriented movies is seemingly going against the grain for this time. Surender Reddy and Vakkantham Vamsi have penned a spy thriller subject for Akhil, who would don the hat of a secret agent. The youthful star will be viewed as an exceptional special officer who exposes the terrorists. This sort of espionage plot bankrolled by Anil Sunkara was seldom focused in Tollywood.

Sources reveal that director would make it more entertaining by adding commercial elements. Now the hearsay is that makers are in talks to zero in Rashmika Mandanna who has been basking in the glory of recent hits like Bheeshma and Sarileru Neekevvaru. We guess the fans would love to see Rashmika playing Akhil’s love interest!. Nevertheless, the official confirmation is yet to be announced.

Star Sons as Directors: Aryan Khan vs Jason Sanjay

Star kids stepping into creative roles are bound to face intense scrutiny, and the internet is doing exactly that right now. Interestingly, the latest comparison isn’t between two actors, but between two star sons making their debut as directors. On one side is Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, and on the other is Thalapathy Vijay’s son Jason Sanjay.

Aryan Khan recently made his creative debut with The Bads of Bollywood, released on Netflix. The project earned notable critical appreciation, especially for its sharp tone, slick editing, dark humour, and self-aware, satirical take on the film industry. When its teaser dropped, it surprised many with its confidence and distinct voice, immediately setting expectations high.

Meanwhile, Jason Sanjay is gearing up for his directorial debut with Sigma, featuring Sandeep Kishan in the lead. The teaser of Sigma, which was released recently, has now become a subject of comparison with Aryan’s work. Unlike The Bads of Bollywood, Sigma’s teaser felt more like a conventional action film that audiences in South cinema are already familiar with. As a result, it received mixed reactions, with many feeling it lacked a strong emotional hook or a standout moment in terms of sound design and presentation.

That said, teasers don’t always define a filmmaker’s potential. While some directors grab attention instantly through promotional material, others manage to surprise audiences only when the full film unfolds on the big screen. For Jason Sanjay, Sigma still has the opportunity to prove that substance can outweigh first impressions.
